CFPS FAQ
Registration
How much are entry fees?
The CFPS offers multiple divisions to accommodate all of its tournament players. Therefore, the cost of the tournament is determined by which division your team is competing in. The following is a breakdown of the divisions and the pay scale:
| Division 3 5-man: | $400 |
| Division 4 5-man: | $350 |
| Division 5 5-man: | $300 |
| Masters 5-man: | $300 |
Where do I go to register my team?
We have teamed up with the American Paintball Players Association to provide our players with an extremely smooth registration process. All you have to do is visit the APPA CFPS registration page. Select “Central Florida Paintball Series” from the list, then proceed to click the event you wish to participate in, finally click “Register Your Team”.
How do I pay for the tournament?
To pay your team’s entry fees, simply navigate through the APPA website (see instructions from previous answer) to the teams list for the specific event you wish to play. Once at the team list, click the “BUY NOW” button next to your team’s roster name.
Do I need a Player ID card?
During this difficult economic time the CFPS has decided to reduce player costs by not requiring player ID cards. Instead, upon check-in on the morning of the event, all team members will be required to show a valid photo identification card. Player’s photo IDs will be checked against their APPA page.
I want to play but don’t have a team, what should I do?
The CFPS has created a Free Agent section located *HERE*. From this page you can list yourself as a free agent and state your case as to why you should be picked up by a team. Teams in need of players have the ability to search this section for players to fill their roster.
Event
Can a team play just one event, not the whole series?
Absolutely, the CFPS offers prizes for both tournament champions as well as overall series champions. If you choose to play just one event your team will be eligible for tournament prize packages.
Where are the events located?
All events are located at Central Florida Paintball, specifically located in Lakeland, FL. Input your address for directions to Central Florida Paintball.
Are teams required to buy paintballs at the event?
In an effort to further reduce team’s costs, the CFPS has decided to allow teams to get paint from wherever they choose. However, paintballs will be available on-site in the CFP pro shop.
Where is my team’s schedule?
Team schedules for the preliminary rounds are typically released a few days prior to the actual event date. All players will be able to access schedules via the APPA website.
Is it free to spectators?
The CFPS is free to any and all spectators. Spectators must stand or sit only in designated spectator areas.
Can spectators coach?
Spectators are allowed to coach from outside the net in designated spectator areas. We respectfully request that the spectators not try to referee the game from outside of the net.
We are a new team, is this tournament for us?
Division 5 is a beginners division. In every sport, players must start somewhere; division 5 is that starting place.
Where do we store our gear and paint at the event?
The CFPs offers multiple tented areas for teams to set up their equipment and store their paint. However, many teams create their own “staging area”. Many teams bring tents, tables, and chairs for comfort.
How many games do we get to play?
Aside from the Masters division, all teams are guaranteed to play at least 6 preliminary games. If you move on into the semi-finals or finals you will play more.
If we place well enough to get prizes, how do we collect our winnings?
Prizes will be distributed at the awards ceremony at the end of each event.
Where can I view event standings?
League standings for the Central Florida Paintball Series are updated and posted on cfpsevents.com regularly.
Classification
What is my tournament classification?
When you are assigned to a team roster, your tournament classification will automatically show up on the team’s roster next to your name. Your classification depends on previously events that you have played.
My classification is “none” what division should I play?
You can play in any division with the “none” classification. “None” is displayed when a player has played zero events; usually players with this classification play in D5.
Equipment
Are there specific rules on the equipment allowed?
The CFPS has adopted the PSP rulebook. Please check the PSP rules for any questions you have regarding the legality of equipment.
